The Ministry of Education Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Scholarships—MOE APEC Scholarships—are offered by the Ministry of Education of Taiwan to encourage young scholars from APEC member economies to undertake research in Taiwan and provide them with opportunities to increase their understanding of Taiwan’s culture and society, to promote mutual understanding and interaction between Taiwan and APEC member economies.
The Taiwan Fellowship is established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) to award foreign experts and scholars interested in researches related to Taiwan, cross-strait relations, mainland China, Asia-Pacific region and Chinese studies to conduct advanced research at universities or academic institutions in Taiwan. The Taiwan Fellowship, echoing the APEC Scholarship Initiative, provides 12 Chinese Taipei APEC Fellowship openings per year exclusively for scholars and experts from developing APEC economies.
The Ministry of Education (MOE) Taiwan Scholarship Program provides tuition and miscellaneous expenses of up to NTD 40,000 each semester and a monthly living allowance of NTD 15,000 or NTD 20,000. A Taiwan Scholarship may be held for 4 years for undergraduate programs, 2 years for master’s degree programs, and 4 years for doctorate programs. Scholarship applications must be submitted to a Republic of China (ROC) overseas mission and applicants must apply separately to a university or college in Taiwan for admission.
Since its establishment by Jamsetji Nusserwanjee Tata, the Promoter of the Tata Group, in 1892, the 131 year – old J N Tata Endowment has awarded loan scholarships to more than 5700 Indian students, drawn from all over India. The Endowment supports only higher studies overseas – Master’s, Ph.D., Post – doctoral fellowships, across all education streams. Based only on Merit, it seeks to recognise and award, “the best and most gifted so as to make them of the greatest service to the country”.

This scholarship is open to foreign students who study or plan to study in a Japanese graduate school for a doctoral or master’s degree. Applications can be submitted from abroad if applicants are accepted to a Japanese graduate school. All nationalities and research fields are welcome. Applicants may directly apply to the foundation without pre-selection by the university.
