Financial Aid Application channels a variety of scholarships that will be granted based on need and merit. There are numerous scholarships in the portfolio. We allow you to be considered for the various funds using just one application in order to streamline the application process and save you from having to submit several applications. Need-based awards will be offered to those who demonstrate and prove significant difficulty in raising sufficient finances for the INSEAD MBA Programme and may be limited in accessing loans. The Scholarship Committee will give preference to candidates with a clear socio-economic disadvantage. Merit-based awards recognize individuals who enhance program diversity through their background, experience, achievements, and regional contributions.

The Antonio Borges Endowed Scholarship has been established in memory of Antonio Borges who died in 2013 after a brave battle against cancer. A highly-respected dean of INSEAD (1993 – 2000), MBA programme dean (1986 – 1990), talented economics professor and widely-regarded business leader, Antonio Borges was also a true international, with deep connections to his native Portugal. A visionary, he shaped INSEAD’s history by setting up the campus in Singapore and greatly enhancing INSEAD’s research agenda. The scholarship received its first major donation in January 2014 from a generous INSEAD alumnus who kindly offered to transfer the endowed fund that he had created at INSEAD in 2008 to the Antonio Borges Endowed Scholarship. Subsequently, the scholarship has received additional funding from Antonio’s family, friends, and colleagues as well as many INSEAD alumni.
The scholarship was established in 2023 thanks to the generous support of alumnus Bansi Nagji, MBA’93J . It is awarded to MBA candidates from around the world who demonstrate the need for financial assistance. Scholarships such as this help cultivate diversity in the INSEAD classroom – a hallmark of the school – by enabling a strong representation of different nationalities; gender; socio-economic backgrounds; as well as academic, personal and professional experiences. It is the donor’s hope that the recipients of this award will later on include INSEAD in their future philanthropic giving as on-going support from alumni and friends is vital to the school’s continued success.
